Don’t Define Me By My Deficits
Sept 23, 2013 @ 8:20  PM, by Judy Endow
Stimming is a part of my very being…. Throughout my life, I have unashamedly done all the stims you can think of. Today I pace regularly at my job and rarely actually sit through a meeting. I pace and draw wildly on the white board to help me language. Sure my friends tease me about this and sure I probably get teased by non-friends too but that is less important than the good that stims do. Advocate for stimming. It is very much part of who we are as a people and serves very important purposes. When a stim is harmful, redirect to another less harmful one. More on this topic as time permits.
